Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Due to the increase in workload Obsidyan is growing and a role has been created that will provide an existing opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor. The role will be based in Andover, Hampshire working alongside the company’s Principal Consultant.

This role provides the opportunity to work with a variety of difference forms of contract on a diverse range of projects. The work will be varied and provide new, refreshing challenges.

The following is required:
A valid UK driving license.
The following is desirable:
The desire to pursue a BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying in the near future or already have one.

What you'll be Doing

  • Being responsible for the commercial management of projects or supporting in the commercial management of projects.
  • Administration of head contracts with clients.
  • Notification and valuation of changes as projects proceed.
  • Compilation, substantiation and submission of monthly applications for payment
  • Supporting claims for extension of time and loss and expense.
  • Procurement and Tendering of Subcontractor packages.
  • Preparing and agreeing Subcontracts.
  • Administering Subcontracts including certifying payment and valuing changes.
  • Measurement and drawings.
  • Compilation of cost forecasts to completion.
  • Financial reporting including compilation of Cost Value Reconciliation Reports.
  • Supporting with formal disputes such as Adjudication.
